Synopsis Awnsers

1.) I think that this play has a strong morals behind it and is very tragic

2.) Sophocles wrote this play because maybe the rulers and leaders of the time carried too much pride which ended with a fall of their empire. He also wrote this as a message to his people and community, that not having respect for the dead because of your pride or prejudice will always strike back at you according to their religious beliefs, religion was a very big part of their lives as the Greek God Dionysus was the god of theatre.

3.) They might have wanted to watch this play because its part of their religion, they believed they needed balance in their lives and theatre brought this. They also went to theatres because all their human emotions needed to be expressed and let out and their society's thought the safest and most contained way to do so was to go to theatres.

She plans to bury her brother against the word and will of her ruler (uncle) because she thinks the respect is due to bury the dead and it would be against her Gods if her brother was left to rot on the streets of Thebes

4.Does Ismene plan to join her? Why or why not?

No because she believes in the law and abides 100% by it, but I think its her fear of her rulers power and what he might do if any was to go against his will
